ABOUT
Richard Cravener Jr., owner and operator of Cravener Consulting Solutions, has worked in the Triangle area for over 30 years providing health and safety support in the life sciences industry and in university settings. He also served active duty in the US Navy as a staff Industrial Hygiene Officer in the Medical Service Corps. He is a faculty member with the NIOSH-sponsored Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he periodically teaches week-long courses on CIH and CSP certification preparation, fundamentals of industrial hygiene, and laboratory safety.
Rich received an MS in Industrial Hygiene from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 and a BS in Safety Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1989. He earned certification from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a Certified Industrial Hygienist in 1997 and certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals as a Certified Safety Professional in 2006.
Rich is committed to serving the youth in his community. For the past 9 years, he has been involved in the Boy Scouts of America and is currently serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 205 in Apex , NC. He also spent many years being involved in church youth ministries, including ten years as an AWANA leader and 4 years in Upward Sports.
